That’s right, when it comes to the College Football Betting no team is playing better than Ohio right now, as the Bobcats are 5-1 in their last six games, while also covering five of their last six spreads. And the ringleader behind all the success is quarterback Boo Jackson.
For Ohio fans, nobody knew exactly what to expect from Jackson coming into the year, as he had the tough challenge of replacing Theo Scott off last year’s roster. However, Jackson has responded this year, as he’s completing just over 62 percent of his passes, and has also thrown 12 touchdowns. The one thing that Jackson needs to improve and will need to get better at though is protecting the ball, as he has 12 interceptions to match those 12 touchdowns thrown. Jackson is coming off the worst game of his season last weekend, when he threw four picks against Louisiana-Lafayette. That simply won’t get it done going forward.
Luckily for Jackson it might not end up mattering, as Buffalo comes into this game struggling, losing their last three, and six of seven against FBS opponents this year. And as good as Ohio is on offense, the Bulls are that bad.
On the year, Buffalo simply can’t get their offense going, as they’ve scored just 23 points in their last three games combined, and are averaging a meager 14.9 points per game on the year. The biggest problem is that this squad has yet to establish a running game so far in 2010, as leading rusher Brandon Oliver has just 265 yards on the season, and is averaging a meager 2.8 yards per carry.
However, to their credit, the Bulls can play defense. And it’s that defense which gives us reason to think that they’ll keep things close Thursday night. And you know that means, the Bulls should be your College Football Betting Pick!
Buffalo enters this one actually playing pretty commendable defense, as they rank 35th in college football in total defense, allowing just 337 yards per game, with only 189 of those yards coming through the air. That number puts them at second in the conference, behind only Temple.
Maybe the most important stat on Buffalo, is that Bulls have already intercepted 12 opponents passes on the year, which is tied for 13th in the country. With Ohio quarterback Boo Jackson playing entirely too recklessly with the ball, it could be a big day for this secondary.
We’re not saying that Buffalo will win this game straight up, but expect their defense to make enough big plays and force a turnover or two to keep this game close.
Expect Ohio to win, but Buffalo to cover the point spread. They need to be your College Football Betting pick Thursday night!
