Chile Squad Copa America 2011 :
The coach of the Chilean national team, Argentinean Claudio Borghi announced the final 23 player list that will play in the 2011 Copa America for Chile, and did not select four players that had been training with the team.
The players who were not chosen include goalkeeper Raúl Olivares (Colo Colo), defender Bruno Romo (Palestino), the midfielder Fernando Meneses (Universidad Católica) and the young forward Diego Rubio (Colo Colo), according to the ANFP.
Midfielder Felipe Seymour (Genoa, ITA), was not on the list due to an injury. Chile started its training in the beginning of June with 28 players.
The list of chosen players includes, the star Alexis Sánchez, from Udinese (ITA), who may join Barcelona FC next season. Chile’s first game will be against Mexico on July 4th, against Mexico.
